According to the world bank global tracking energy progress report (2018), 27% and 1% of the Ugandan population have access to electricity and clean cooking respectively. This limited access to modern energy has resulted in over reliance on biomass and exploitation of natural resources which also has serious negative implications on both nature and local communities.
BSL provides advisory services to renewable energy programmes and projects that support access to cost effective, sustainable and environmentally friendly energy solutions for domestic and institutional use.
Alternative energy sources reduce dependence by local communities on biomass for their energy needs, hence reducing greenhouse gas emissions as well as improving their livelihoods.
